Vans has decided to start closing some of there parks. Unfortunately, the park with the best bowl is the one that goes first. I barely made it out in time to check this park out before it closed. Normally, I wouldnt make such an effort just to skate another Vans park, but, since Salba raved about this being the best clover bowl in the country, I decided a 1700 mile drive was in order.
The drive was worth it. This was the best clover in the country. It still had the same shitty coping Vans likes to use but it wasn't as slippery as usual. Most of this is because this park actually had a manager that skated. This means the bowl and coping was taken care of for once. The bowl was laid out pretty good with a super wide lowend at about 5 feet. The mid section was probably 8 foot and the deep 9. The waterfalls seperating each section were pretty good too. This is the type of bowl you could take 5 minute runs in. Its just had lines going everywhere and was really easy to skate. It was by no means perfect but for a Vans park it might as well be considered that. Its a shame they closed the park. Last I heard, the locals were trying to lobby someone like Nike to buy the park and save the bowl. Good Luck guys.
